Good morning, I can’t find the chart showing the levers of chlorine I need to SLAM based on my CYA levels. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Here you go.

The chart would normally be found on the FC/CYA page but is not currently showing. I alerted a few folks to check on it.

do you think the brand of chemicals effects the outcome?
Usually no, as long as there are no obvious additives like fabric softeners or "splashless" enhancements. Once in a great while we find a questionable manufactures of chemicals we avoid (i.e. Clorox).

I used to only use Bioguard chemicals. Now I order from whomever is having a sale bc the prices are through the roof
List what you need and we'll give you the generic versions. It's literally all baking soda or such repackaged as TA up / balance pak something something, at 10x the cost.

I literally dumped 11 lbs of baking soda in last night!
13 lbs for under $10 at costco/bjs/Sam's.

Keep em coming :)

*also, you want to now lower the TA to about 60 by managing the pH. Adjust it to a high 7 when it reached 8+. The TA will fall and then help slow PH rise

Thanks! I also have high phosphates 3320 (husband took water to pool store yesterday also bc he is so frustrated). We have had blue/green water at opening before, but it clears right up. Not this time. Will phosphates inhibit the other chemicals?

No. Purchase a Taylor phosphate kit on amazon ($30). The pool store raises the question but is often inaccurate.

Ultimately they don't matter once this is done because there will be no algae to eat the algae food. It's like leaving a buffet in the middle of the Sahara desert. So what ? It aint attracting a crowd to eat it.

However, if the Taylor kit agrees they're in the 1000s, you may wish to lower them with seaklear or orenda1000 to guard against a future outbreak if life gets in the way of FC management.
