I doubt you have mustard algae. Your pool looks like a late stage slam pool. Keep at it, you'll get it.
Even the shallow end is extremely cloudyI doubt you have mustard algae. Your pool looks like a late stage slam pool. Keep at it, you'll get it.
It’s been so sunny here i actually raised the cya to 40 and bumped the fc accordingly. When the pool company opened it I believe they poured algaecide in. that be part of the problem? That water looks like it's right on the verge of making the next transition from green to cloudy blue. While maintaining the proper SLAM FC level, be sure to continue with all of the SLAM Process protocol. I don't see any accessories in the pool that would require inspecting other than perhaps later checking the main drain cover if you have one. Also behind the skimmer weir doors. You might also check the CYA again if you haven't in a while to ensure you are at the proper SLAM FC level.
That could create some issues, but shouldn't necessarily be slowing down the SLAM. The elevated chlorine level should be breaking down any algaecide as well.I believe they poured algaecide in. that be part of the problem?
Could the skimmer socks be slowing down the process?Pool's looking much better...you are in the Pool Owner Patient faze...you got this!

Really not a lot of change since Wednesday of this week. Today is day 12. Besides cya and fc i haven’t checked AK or any other levels since starting the slam. Should I consider them? Also should my returns be facing down. Right now they’re positioned up.That water looks like it's right on the verge of making the next transition from green to cloudy blue. No need. Periodically checking the CYA is a good idea, but other than that, maintain the proper FC level and continue with the sweeping & brushing.Besides cya and fc i haven’t checked AK or any other levels since starting the slam. Should I consider them?
Not so far up that they aerate the water and cause the pH to rise. Also should my returns be facing down. Right now they’re positioned up.
Not even sure how I’d get that outI'm just noticing the ladder that sits in the water. Can you pull it out? I am concerned about what might be growing in those ladder rail handles.
If we can somehow get it out what should I clean it with? Do I keep it off for a few days or put it back after cleaning?Yes, you should remove the ladder and clean the inside. I didn't and it extended my only slam by 2 days. Great catch.
To get it out, you loosen that bolt a couple turns (2-4), then gently tap the head of the bolt (you can use a punch), to lower the wedge that is holding the ladder.

Do we think this green is algae?
