Can we swim after adding Dry Stabilizer?

My CYA is 30 so Pool Math says I need to add 4lbs. 3oz and I think I need to run the pump for 48 hours? We were going to take a swim later today, is it not advised to swim while this dissolves and mixes around?

Do I do all 4lbs, 3oz. at once? Just pour it in all around the pool, or? Looks like my ACE Hardware has this stuff. I will need two bags.

Yep. BUT, you need to tie off that bag!!! Don't let the CYA granules get out on the pool surface.

Also, move that bag away from the plaster 6". Do you have a return that is not over the steps? Best to not have it be close to plaster.

Okay they are now both hanging off of the poles but due to the fact my variable speed pump is on the lowest RPM, I have nowhere near the output as in your photo!!

After a couple hours in warm water, even with very low flow from the return, the granules will have softened considerably. So you can quicken the process by giving the bag a few squeezes.

Also, be aware that the CYA might not register on your tests right away. Wait 3 days after dissolving the granules before testing and deciding whether to add more.

Wait 2-3 days. Test each day and you will learn how CYA circulation behaves in your pool. I've had brands register full results in 24 hours, and been surprised it took 3 days with others.

You'll notice the pool was filling, brand new. The returns are at the water level so that's why it has such movement.

Any movement, even if you hung it in the middle of the pool, would be fine.
