Jandy Aquapure Salt Production 00% - NEW Jandy chlorinator

Hey all -

Here is my issue. I just installed a new Jandy Chlorinator (PLC1400) to replace my old one that was not working anymore and pins inside were corroded. Installed the system exactly as the old one was installed. When the system is on auto (Jandy Aquilink controlled) the chlorine output is zero (even though set to 70%). When in service mode, I am able to manually raise the level to 70% and it stays (even though screen flips between 70% and "Jo". (see attached photos of both)

- My Salinity level is quite high at 3.8glp although I dont think this would be the issue.
- Its a brand new Chlorinator so I dont think its a hardware issue.

What could be the issue? Did I leave out any useful info? Would a photo of the wiring or equipment help?

If by power cycle you mean turn off at the breakers (for some time) and back on - yes, I did. Is there a certain order that I need to adhere to?

Thanks
What breakers are you talking about?

What does the LCD mean?

• ‘LO’ – indicates that the water temperature is less than 51 deg. F

• ‘BO’ – indicates the boost cycle which can be activated by pressing the ‘Pool Temperature’ key for 10 seconds; it can be cancelled by holding the same key for 10 seconds.

• ‘EC’ - indicates the unit is being controlled by an external controller or ORP device.

• ‘JA’ – Indicates operation is controlled by a Jandy AquaLink RS or PDA, and system is in AUTO MODE.

• ‘JO’ – Indicates operation is controlled by a Jandy AquaLink RS or PDA, and system is in SERVICE or TIME MODE.

• ‘JB’ – Indicates operation is controlled by a Jandy AquaLink RS or PDA, and system is in BOOST MODE.

‘JA’ – Indicates operation is controlled by a Jandy AquaLink RS or PDA, and system is in AUTO MODE.

It should show "JA" if the Aqualink RS is in control.

Is the 4 wire communication wire connected?

Can you show the wiring?

Does your controller show a water temperature?

If not, replace the water temperature sensor.

When not in Service Mode - ie. auto - the display shows 00% as in the photo. If I try to change the setting on the panel, I get a "Jo" indicator as the Aqualink controls the settings (set to 70% in Aquilink).
When in Service Mode I am able to manually set the chlorinator to 70% and the display shows 70% production (alternates between 70% production and "Jo")
The wiring appears as in your diagram - although the "Aux 3 Relay) Has a line going to the transformer to the right of the "Chlorine Generator Power Interface Board" in the photo below.

I can take better photos tomorrow morning and send, just happened to have these in my phone.

What controller do you have for the Aqualink RS?

CORRECTION -

When on auto and I try to manually change I get "JA" indicator - NOT "Jo" as said above.
