Permanent Removal of Iron

Hi, I have iron deposits on my pool, especially the PVC fillings, etc. Last year I treated it with ascorbic acid at the end of the season when my chlorine was at zero. The staining has re-appeared. I plan to add ascorbic acid when the water temp gets low enough so that I do not have to worry about algae. How do I remove the iron from the water once the iron is dissolved into the water?

You have to remove the water and replace it with water that doesn’t have iron in it.

Some people also report success in trying to filter it out with polyfil stuffed in the skimmer and then adding chlorine to make it come out of solution.
