Hello,
Just went to prep for closing last night an noticed tiny holes/tears above the water in the corner of our vinyl liner.
We have covered the area with FlexSeal tape and closed our pool this morning.
But am wondering thoughts on how to handle this moving forward/when we open next spring? Will it be ok over winter with the FlexSeal tape? What do we do for a longer term solution that looks nicer?IMG_0786.jpegIMG_0787.jpeg

Get yourself a proper patch kit.-

To properly apply a patch, cut a piece of patch material so that it is large enough to cover the tear with ~3/4" overlap and be sure to round off any corners. Unrounded patches tend to come off fairly easily. Apply a thick, even coat of the adhesive to the back of the patch and fold it in half so that it's glue to glue.

Unfold the patch right at the leak and apply it - this is where you use the seam roller roll the patch from the center out using good pressure on the patch then spend a minute or two rolling around the edge of the patch.

What kind of patch kit do you recommend?

The best I could guess is that they burn fields in our area and we've been getting significant amounts of ash falling into our pool from that.
My first thought yestetday was burns and assuming nobody was smoking all sloppy like in the corner, I kept it to myself.

They're too round to be rips/tears IMO.

Here is an example: Ocean Blue Vinyl Pool Liner Patch Kit, 1 oz - OBW197020 - INYOPools.com the patch material is clear
The advantage to your situation is that this area will not be underwater in a normal circumstance. You will have to determine the overall condition of your liner and estimate the life left. The fit in the corner is poor, the holes could very well be due to uv degradation considering that portion of the liner is facing to the sky.
There is nothing to lose by patching this area and getting as much life out of the liner as you can.
