What’s my backup during replacement of IC40

I have an IC40 that failed. It was down a week before I realized it. The pool is a nice green lagoon color now. I know I need to SLAM now, but what’s the best way to supplement until the warranty replacement comes through?

Vinyl pool, 16,500 gallons. Pentair system.

I have a floating tab dispenser that I use for the winter.

You will be using liquid chlorine for the SLAM Process. Just continue to use liquid chlorine for chlorinating your pool water until the SWCG is operational.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve only had the pool for a year and am new to all of this. Is there a link you have to best practices for using liquid? I don’t even know where to put it in!

You just pour it right in. Don’t splash any on your shirt or wipe your hands on your clothes unless they’re already white.

This is a great tip. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve accidentally splashed myself while pouring chlorine into the pool!

Simply sink the chlorine jug down into the water leaving the leaving the opening above then pour with the opening of the jug 2 inches off the water. This way there's very little splashing as long as you pour slow and don't block the air from venting the jug.

3 week estimate for my IC40 to be replaced under warranty.

Just to play with, above and beyond the TF100. I know they’re not recommended as the primary chemical control, but for $15 I just wanted to see for myself how well they work.

Your choice. But it’s not just that they’re not recommended, they are super not recommended and a waste of money.

The last test report on 7/13/2023 showed FC at 2.63 and CYA at 26. We use Rising Sun pools in Raleigh, NC.

Dunno, never heard of it. Rising Sun Pools is the largest pool company in Raleigh, so I hope I’m in good hands with them!
