You can use the 3 way to function like the 2 way provided you cap one end and since you already own them...might as well use em.

You can use the 3 way to function like the 2 way provided you cap one end and since you already own them...might as well use em.

I would use the 3-way to run a bypass for your heater. Your schematic didn't have a heater bypass. let's say 8 years (hopefully longer or never ;)) down the road, the heat pump has an issue/leak. With a bypass, no problem, keep running everything just without heating the water. Without a bypass, you may not be able to circulate water in your pool. Put the 3-way between the filter and heat pump, wrap around the heat pump and connect with a tee between the SWG and the check valve.

Thank you. I knew I had read somewhere something about the bypass for the heater, but I couldn't remeber what was the set up :)
 
Can you guys tell me if this is an ok set up for the pressure testing thing???? also, the valve (when open) will activate the air compressor to start dispensing air, correct???

as this is a holiday weekend, and you guys might not be checking the forums so often, I was wondering if someone could maybe give me some ideas on how to find find a leak if my plumbing fails the pressure test........ after 2 days of trying to finish up my plumbing and will try to run the pressure test right after that........ if the pressure drops radically, is there an eay way to locate the source???? TIA

Soapy water in a spray bottle. Spray it around the joints and see if air bubbles out.

I won't..... I won't backfill until I am sure that the pipe work is ok....... I should be able to pressurize the pipes tonight, then we will try to set the liner tomorrow (it is the one day when I can bring family members to help me, but more likely than not, water won't go in until sunday, and slowly at that....... as I am supposed to back fill as the water level goes up, I should have time to verify that everything is ok...

When my builder did my pool they did NOT backfill the same day. They set the liner and had me fill to just below the skimmers and then came back to back fill like a week later. Seemed to be fine. Do you have a vacuum for the liner? I wouldnt try to do it without it.

hey guys.... so, I couldn't put the liner on Saturday because I notice that the vermiculite/cement floor had some mayor issues (the people that did it was regular concrete people (and I was lucky to even find them), and had never worked with vermiculite or pool bottoms before)..... it was rough and had some "holes" in areas........ so I had to sand it out, and actually mix some concrete and vermiculite to "fill" the holes..... and had to wait for it to dry........ I was really sad that I wasn't able to do it, but thankfully my family said that they will come over tomorrow and help me :) :) :party:......... I still need to work on it some more, which is what brings me to todays question....... what is the current thinking on foam on the bottom of the pool (was thinking to put some on the shallow end)??? I put some on the walls, but with the floor being a bit rough, I though I could put it there......if anyone thinks is a good idea, what thickness should I put (i have left over from the wall, but I saw on other threads that they have used 1/2 and even 3/4 in some cases....... also, and more importantly, how do you attach it??? TIA

FYI you don’t have to wait for it to dry, my builder did the vermiculite and liner in the same day.
