I’m being told I have chlorine lock.

What's done is done. The additions now are to maintain what you have and keep any additional algae at bay,

you may be adding much more than 10 gallons to slam your pool. But the test kit will tell you how much you need to add.

Is there a certain type of chlorine to use since we normally get ours at the pool store?

Any liquid chlorine is great. Avoid household bleach. It has polymers that cause foaming and is considerably weaker.

All of the pool aisles have it, along with the pool stores. Walmart has been many people's best price this year @ $5.67 for 10%

I get mine at the local pool store as well.12.5%. The blue 5 gallon returnable jugs. $30.00. By now they know not to ask me about testing my water and trying to sell-me stuff lol.

Click where it currently says 0.6. Enter your start value. Then click the 3 and enter your target value where you'd like to be.

Once the kit comes, you'll know your start value and will do 5 to 8 or something like that. For now, just do 0 to 3.

$6.00 a gallon For 12.5% around here is considered a good price.

Here in Charlotte nc I was forced to buy grocery store 7.5% sometimes paying $7+ for 121oz. I went through 3 large orders (20’ish gallons per order) of bleach to get my SLAM done. I would love the prices that you guys have.

Ok so my pool is clearing up and is almost clear but I now have several small foam spots on the surface. I am still waiting in my test kit.

Should I do anything other than adding the liquid chlorine each day?
Add 5 ppm of liquid chlorine daily until your test kit arrives and you can do all the tests.
