How do I clean up after algae problem

I had a little bit of Algae and I hit it hard with Shock. This worked and the water cleared up but a white power is on the bottom of the pool. I put my robot in and half the powder is flowing thru the robot filter. I suppose my pool filter will get some and some will fall back down. Do I just keep doing this cleaning both pool and robot filters until I'm done? or do I use a clarifier to make the particles larger?

Hey!!! Welcome to TFP... :shark:

CalHypo is know to cause temporary water cloudiness from the formation of calcium carbonate. Depending on the condition of your water prior to adding the 3lbs of CalHypo, you could have easily scaled out calcium carbonate.

We don't recommend shocking pools. We also don't recommend long term use of Cal-Hypo.

Clean the pool however you can get it out...

How are you testing your water?

Do not add clarifiers...not recommended.

Take a look here. Link-->Pool Care Basics

Hach Aqua strips and Taylor k-2005 complete test kit. The strips are OK for a quick test but aren't that accurate. The test kit is much better
OUTSTANDING!! I would recommend that you add the Taylor K-1515-C. This is a FAS-DPD test for chlorine and is the gold standard.

Why? We recommend you follow this. Link-->FC/CYA Levels

You need the FAS-DPD to ensure you are maintaining enough FC to sanitize your pool and maintaining appropriate FC for your CYA.

BTW, we love pool pics...Link-->How Clear is TFP Clear?

I could see the screws on the bottom drain today until I started the robot vacuuming
