Hi all you super helpful people!

Could someone look at my numbers and tell me why my daughter and her friend’s hair is green? 😬 Help!

There are shampoos that will help remove the copper (they say "chlorine", but we here at TFP know its really copper).

One of the bigger offenders to pools is Clorox XtraBlu pucks, sold at Costco in bulk. Anything that says Clorox XtraBlu will contain it and it builds up in the pool water till it gets so saturated that you start seeing stains on the walls of the pool and green hair/nails.

Just curious after viewing your PoolMath log-- why the soda ash 7 days ago? Your pH was ok at 7.1, and your TA is so high (which pulls the pH up faster) that I just don't see a need?

Something to take note of:

That was a direction from the pool store (which I’ve learned now not to listen to) 😉
Any other suggestions? I am super new to this and trying to learn all I can.

No, none. Just the stuff in my pool logs.
Your logs only go back to 7 days ago-
did you have someone close/open your pool that may have used algaecides or sequestrants?
Your cc’s were very high - have you added anything to lower them?
Was this pool on a Trichlor diet before you started using a swg?
Do you regularly keep your ph in the low 7’s?
Do you have any stains or have you done any stain treatments recently?

I appreciate the help! It’s a brand new pool. Completed in Nov of last year. Had some issues with the pump not running reliably so the builder closed it due to the temps and then opened it a couple weeks ago to work on the pump which has been running perfectly for a couple weeks now. We never really got a “pool school” so I’ve been figuring it out myself. He just put the salt in to about 3 weeks ago. I was out of town the first week and then took some water to get tested and that’s where the logs start. First few are from the pool store and last two days are with my new kit.
Over the winter I know the builder threw some pucks of chlorine in but that would have been early on and nothing was done to it from Nov- end of March.
The CCs, high at the pool store testing. They had me add two pounds of Leslie’s fresh and clear which I did before getting advise here. I then waited for my new kit to come and ran those first numbers last night…which were a lot diff than the pool store readings. Hope this helps, I really appreciate it!

Is the hair blonde?

Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) might get it out.

Consult with a hair specialist to see if using vitamin C is a good idea.

Ingredients: Glucose, Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Gluconate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Betaine, Panthenol.

Vitamin c is what you use to get green/blue out of hair from left over color or copper from pool water. It’s harsh though which is why there’s panthenol in that shampoo/treatment.

In the pool store tests did they test the copper level? If so do you have those results?
What kind of filter do you have - it’s missing from your signature

They did test the cooper level at the pool store and it was 0. Filter is Jacuzzi cartridge filter.
