Get hairnets...100 of them under $10...change out every 7-14 days and they have saved my filters, decreased filer cleaning frequencies....

Report the filter PSI after cleaning.
Strange thing. I let the pool sit overnight turned completely off to avoid putting more pressure on the filter. The next day, when I went to clean it, I turned it back on and the psi was back down to normal at 18 to 21. My theory is all the tree particles must’ve subsided in the filter. I started using a skimmer sock and it has worked wonders. this time of year, it is trapping unbelievable amounts of tree seedlings.

I still intend on cleaning the filter as described before but it is not an emergency anymore as everything is running great and the psi is staying down. I am going to give it a little more time and then go in for the cleaning.

When you turn off a DE filter the DE slumps down with the dirt clogging it. When the filter starts up you have clean DE for a little while until the dirt clogs it again.

Clean your filter as the good operation will not last long.

I completed it today. I am showing around 16/17 psi. everything went well. putting all the filter fans back together was a little tricky but I figured it out.
16-17 PSI is what I would expect.

Note that as your clean filter pressure.

You should backwash your filter when it gets to 23-25 PSI.
