The concrete pool deck over the skimmer has cracks that are getting bigger. Has anyone else had this issue and how was it resolved. I was told b one pool company it was due to a a lack of tile placed under the cement and that the whole cement block needed replacing costing $1k plus. I have attached some pics for reference. Please let me know if this is something that needs to be fixed immediately or is this something I can do when I plan on replastering my pool in several years. Also are there any solutions I can try before having to pay the huge price. Thank you.

Show us pics looking into the skimmer mouth from the pool.

You should have a stone or metal plate bridging the skimmer mouth to support the coping above it.

It's not really coping, it is a cantilevered deck and you would not put anything over the span as the concrete should be solid.

It's a safety hazard as it could give way as someone stands on the section.

I’ve added some pics looking into the skimmer. Sorry they aren’t the best, but it’s what I could do without getting in the pool.
