My filter pump and feature pump circuits have freeze protection on. I have seen both work. Now for the questions.

They both seem to cycle on and off rather than continuous on. With this current freeze coming to NTX should I run both pumps 24x7 rather than risk an issue with both cycling on-off during the freeze? Particularly the feature pump, I'm worried about water freezing in the throats of the descents during an off-cycle.

And for the filter pump, if I run it 24x7 will the freeze protection still cycle between spa and pool mode?

TIA

Todd

Freeze protection runs anytime the temps are below 37F and freeze protection is turned on for a particular circuit. It should run continuously. My water features pump, and any circuits I have that are associated with it will run consistently as long as freeze protection is active. The only ones that cycle are the pool/spa circuits. It switches between pool and spa every 15 minutes as long as freeze protection is active.

You are saying your features pump cycles on/off?

See the this thread (Featured - Intellicenter Users - Freeze Protection warning) for a warning on freeze protection during a power event or a reboot of the panel.

To close this out. User error. ;) Water feature pump is not cycling on and off; its on continously. Filter pump is cycling between spa and pool as expected. Nothing to see here.........

Better to ask about it and have it answered and realize it was user error than not ask and have something damaged. ;)
