Renaissance UV Ozone system

Looking for input from anyone who has this system, or any other ozone system. Backstory: I have a new pool, and had the Solaxx Renaissance UV Ozone system installed. After a few tweaks it worked fine, and all pool equipment was normal. Filter was consistently at 20 psi when running the variable speed pump on high, all three scuppers had the same flow, and all return jets were quiet with only very, very minimal bubbles from one return jet which was attributed to the ozone system. Flash forward about three months. The check valve on the UV Ozone system got broken. it was under warranty so the pool builder sent his guy out and he installed a complete new system because could not repair the check valve. Immediately after it was done, I'm having the following issues: About 27 PSI on my filter (it has been backwashed twice since then, so it's not dirty). Significant bubbles coming out of three return jets. One of the jets is right over a seat in the pool, and in that area the bubbles are very aggressive, and it is a constant burping/gurgling sound every several seconds. The scupper nearest the two jets that have the bubbles is putting out less water flow than the other two scuppers. Pool technician and builder says this is "normal". But if it's normal, why didn't it do this with the first system that was installed? Is there any solution to this issue other than removing the UV Ozone system? Thank you in advance

TFP does not use or endorse the use of ozone systems. Ozone is not a water sanitizer and ozone systems have little to no value in a residential, outdoor pool.

Best thing you can do is rip the system out and glue a straight pipe in its place.

Air is not normal unless you're in a hot tub. Bubbles mean that air is getting in the system. Is the pump filter basket full? I would check the pump basket lid first. Look for trash on the seal or a misshaped seal. Sometimes just reseating it solves the issue.

Ozone is a very effective oxidant and virucide. For ozone to be most effective it needs proper concentration and contact time. It can kill most things within a couple of seconds of contact but some pathogens can take up to 30 minutes. I have a ClearWater Tech APEX system with onsite O2 generation and an 80-gal contact tank. I like it and will not remove it until it dies. However, it is overkill for a residential pool and I would place money elsewhere on a future build.

Further reading on ozone.

Thank you. Pump filter basket is clean, and looks to have a good seal. it's very new, so it shouldn't have any issues.
