So, I purchased (new) this unit about 3 years ago, and I must say, it was the best money I've ever spent! But it took this long for me to realize that the blue flecks I keep seeing on floaters and inside the unit when I hose it out is actually from the cord! I either need to replace the cord or five a way to wrap it because it's getting worse so much more noticeable. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what did you do? I'm half afraid to go to Matronics for the pice of the cord... LOL And, by the way, yes, I'm guilty of leaving it in the pool but once it's through doing it's marvelous job today, I plan to take it out and clean it. I'm pretty sure I run it more often than needed anyway.

It seems to be a common problem with the Dolphin cleaners.

Marina's Pool and Patio has non swivel version for $99 and the swivel version for $149. Mine wore down so much after 5 years that I could see the wires inside. Even though my S200 (Doheny Discovery) never stopped working, It was well worth the money when I finally replaced the cord.

Thanks so much! I think I'll have to do that too. I'm curious, though, do you not have any issues now that you don't have the swivel? I was pricing them and the swivel seens to be the costly part.

My S200 (Doheny Discovery) is getting pretty old and was purchased before they included the swivel cord. I just disconnect it from the power supply and lay out straight every 3-4th time I use it. I did repair a newer Triton PS (S300) yesterday and it had a swivel cord. It did seem like it it does a better job of staying tangle free, at least for the two cycles I tested it.

I was about to replace mine and then decided to wrap the cord with vinyl tape. It worked great, looks like I can get another few years out of it.

Ordered non swivel version from Your Pool HQ because I got it for $89!

I considered that too but decided to just get the new cord since I found it due $89. I will just have to take better care of it from now on. Thanks!
