For 35 years our VL pool has utilized a Hayward EC65 Perflex bump-type DE filter, and it has always worked flawlessly. Several times each season I would need to flush the spent DE from the filter tank and replace with (80% of new) fresh DE. I would simply run a pool hose from my filter drain port to a weedy/unimproved corner of my yard and begin the flush and rinse ritual until clear water emerged from the hose end. Life was good!!! Now, however, thanks to my wife's never ending appetite for yard improvement, I no longer have my weedy/unimproved corner. I would like to try filtering the spent DE through some non-woven geo-textile filtration cloth (of which there are many densities manufactured) that I can then fold up and throw in the garbage. So, I'm hoping to find somebody here who has already determined the best density of geo-textile cloth for the job . . . or perhaps even a source for giant coffee filters.
Thanks.
