Aqualink only turns on heat button via service mode. When in auto or spa mode or via app, won’t turn on heater? Is this a an automation setting problem?
Sorry misread it AS not turning on in service mode, most likely settings issue. Desired temp isn’t above current temp or the heat source isn’t binded to heater also could be inadequate flow. Going off limited info.

It works in service mode. I think it’s a setting issue. In settings do we set the heater to automatically trigger in spa mode and optional in auto mode? Auto locks the heat button out
Temp sensor is most likely problem. Swap the air temp sensor for the water temp and see what happens. Its OK to leave it out of the water stream. Also, what does the diagnostic menu say?
