Hi all! Recently when I try to turn on my spillway so the water cascades it kicks on the spa jets, it’s never done this before
Can someone please help? I toggle “spillway” and now the jets and spillway turn on

Lower the rpm of the Spillway to 2000 rpm or even a bit less. Just enough so it spills over.

Your POOL rpm could be lowered dramatically too. Lower it to 1500 rpm and see if the SWCG flow light stays green.

Thank you but it doesn’t “cascade” at the lower rpm it just trickles and I can’t figure out why the jets are kicking on now…

Have tried the lower rpm when in Spillway? Prior you were only sending part of the water to the spa, now all of the water is going to the spa when using Spillway.

Yes I lowered it and the jets are still on, when it’s really low (no jets) no cascade it just trickles and what’s strange is it wasn’t like this before, I just noticed that it changed when I turned on the spillway yesterday (haven’t tried it in a few weeks)

That is what happens in Spillway. The suction valve is pulling from the pool and all the return flow is going to the spa.

Which line goes to the spa jets and which one to the pool returns?

Is there a make up line? Take a picture a bit further back of the return valves.

The check valve would be on the spa return. So the right side is spa, left is pool.

You are returning all flow to the spa as that is shown.

8,

That is where it should be in the spillover mode.

Now show me where it is when you are in the pool mode. In the pool mode there should not be any spillover if the valve is set up correctly.

Thanks,

Jim R.

There is no spilloever in pool mode. I am wondering why when I turn on the spillover the jets in the spa turn on - this did not happen when the pool was first installed a month ago - I'm wondering what changed? Its incredibly loud with the jets going, just wanted to go back to the "flat" spa water and the "cascade" spillover - I haven't changed anything on my end so I'm wondering what triggered it?

8,

Why not just turn the Spillway speed down until the water flows like you want to see it???

I suspect when you originally got the pool it was set up to have a constant spillover when in the pool mode. They off-set the Return valve to make it spillover all the time when in the Pool Mode.

You then enabled the "Spillway" mode. This means that the off-set return valve is set back to normal and the spillover is run by the automation. The automation turns the Intake valve so that it sucks water from the pool and sets the Return valve to send all the water back to the Spa. The faster you run the pump in the Spillway mode, the more the water will spillover into the pool.

The Spillway mode is just to keep your Spa chlorinated. It would normally run two times a day for 30 minutes each time. You would not normally leave it in the Spillover mode all the time, as when in the Spillover mode, you have no water going to your pool returns so you don't have much circulation.

I am somewhat confused as to what it is that you are trying to do?

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hi Jim, it's not working correctly. When it was first installed, last month - when I would turn on "spillway" it would produce a nice cascading waterfall, with flat spa water. Now, all of a sudden when I turn on "spillway" the jets turn on (which are really loud) and then the "cascade" starts, but the jets stay on the entire time....I'm wondering what in the world would have changed to cause this? Does that make sense? My apologies if I'm not explaining correctly. I have a wider spillway, when in "pool" mode it trickles down the face, and always has. I like the "spillway" mode as it's a pretty water feature and sounds nice while I am out in the yard :)

Just trying to get to what looks and sounds different to you this time. The only water that can come into the spa to make your spillway work is from those returns/jets. Meaning, they have always supplied your spillway water. By default, if your spillway is putting out the same water as always, the same amount is still coming in from them as always has. Your pic just looks a bit more aerated and surface-breaking than what you described as normal, still. Did you aim them up more at any time. Also, what does it look like in spa mode? Any chance some labeling in your programming got changed?
