Still cloudy but blue is much better! The filtering can take the longest, especially with a sand filter, but you're on your way

- The extra chlorine typically doesn't help too much as you already have elevated levels (except in specific cases like mustard algae)
- You will lose extra to the sun and so waste some of it as you mention
- It's unsafe to swimmers (exactly where is hazy but it's above SLAM level)
- It can be unsafe to pool surfaces (bleaching out liners, etc) at some point above SLAM level

…. Today was the first day there has been no change . Only thing is a little dead algae built up in the usual place I find some . Shallow end “appears” clear but a little haze in the deep end . Chlorine level is still pumpin strong . Do I keep up the SLAM until the whole pool is crystal clear ? Or is there a additive I’m suppose to add at some point?

No additives, just keep up the SLAM until:
1) pool is *perfectly* clear
2) you pass an overnight chlorine loss test (FC drops less than 1 ppm overnight)
3) CC is less than 1
The only thing you need more of at this point is POP - pool owner patience!

As a milestone on your way to clarity in the deep end, sure.can we measure clarity in the low end only ?
That's an amazing 2.5 day turn around !!! Exchanging water really makes a big dent in the battle.
Remember you want to scrub every inch with a pool that started so swampy. A trace of the old algae left anywhere, like in the weir door foam or behind the light, will start making the next bloom as soon as your FC drops to regular maintenance levels.

. My g/f father has a extra salt cell or something to convert a pool to salt . He said we could have it . Do I want to take him up on this or just go with what we are doing( learning) with the liquid chlorine ?
