Anyone else having issues with the handle on a new Waterway Renegade Skimmer where is doesn’t stay locked into the sides of the basket and falls out? Curious if this is a defective basket with handle or just a poor design. Curious if there is a better basket to replace it with or how to get handles to not pop off the sides.

I don't have any experience with your skimmer, but saw some interesting feedback reading the reviews on a replacement handle-

Many of the reviews suggest that they changed the way the handle connects to the basket (made the pegs bigger). So I wonder if you somehow ended up with an old handle on a newer basket, making the pegs too small to stay attached?

Unless someone comes by with some better insight, it's cheap enough if you wanted to try replacing the handle.

Purchased a new handle from Amazon for our new skimmer but it is the same handle. Seems like a poor design where the handle easily comes out of sides that is snaps into on the plastic holes. Who designs this Crud.

Guess I'll have to rig up something to keep the handle from popping out... others have this issue with newer Waterway Renegade Skimmer's purchasing during covid pool builds ? : )

The waterway handle has a nub at each end which isn't round and the the basket holes aren't round either. By design if you almost bring the handle to the flat position on the basket you'll be able to click it into the basket holes by giving it a little pressure for it to pop in. For removal the same applies which is to pop it out it needs the almost flat position.
