1750rpm. If I go 1150rpm, psi reads 0, which I'm not sure what it actually means.

Marty, her FC is 12.5. She needs to generate less then 3 ppm and let her FC drop to around 6. Then she can go to a 3 ppm generation setting.

CYA - 60 (you all recommend me to rechech within a few days)
I just changed the settings to what Marty told me. Should I turn it off and wait until FC gets to a more reasonable level?
Wait, you want me to chech my CYA now? I can do that. Last time I checked was 2 days ago, one day after I added CYA for the first time.

8000 gallon pool - 1.4lbs SWG - 80% for 12 hours will generate 8.4 FC. That is too much.
I would rather you set your SWG to generate 1 ppm. That is SWG at 10% for 12 hours.
You don't have a heater and you can turn your pump speed down to 1,400 RPM. Your SWG should still show flow and your pump will use less the $1/day of electricity running for the 12 hours.

I liked the idea of running it less hours with a higher %, because my pump has a very annoying noise that is driving ourselves and our next door neighbors crazy. I have another thread for that

In that case 20% for 6 hours or 30% for 4 hours are all the same. Whichever one works for you best.8am - 8pm.

I didn't see it mentioned here but the SWG will make your pH rise too. So dont get freaked out if you bring it down and it starts climbing since you adjusted the TA.
Have you tried the vitamin c tabs yet on those dark spots?
When your builder comes over, tell him to NOT dump anything into the pool that you will take care of it from here on out.

Not really. It has little effect on pH. High TA fill water and aeration are the primary drivers of pH rise.
I have just tried the vitamin c tables and they didn't work. I crushed them, put them in a sock, hold them close to the spots, nothing. So I grabbed one and rub it directly. Nothing.

Nope. Must not be iron.
This is a new pool, correct? I would have notify the fiberglass manufacturer of the stains.
So true...rain water here in central fla raises PH along with water falls running...a little MA added and all good again.
Big storm/tornado watch & hail coming to Austin. Curious to see what the test tells me tomorrow...
