I’ve tried to troubleshoot this with the company, but they were not sure what to do besides send me a new o-ring.
Ever since I have had this SWCG, it’s had a slow leak. You can visibly see the misalignment between the coupler and the housing when the coupler is screwed on. I can disconnect the other side and it’s still misaligned.
The new o-ring helped for a while. I could get it screwed on just so, and the leak would either quit or become so slow that it wasn’t worth waiting around for.
Now, after my equipment pad was shut down for the past couple of weeks and I removed the SWCG, it’s back again. I can keep it loose and watch the drip and then tighten it up, then it slows down…but at some point the threads skip over and the seal breaks completely. I have had multiple people thread it just to make sure I wasn’t cross-threading anything, but the leak is always there.
This is my naive first thought but it seems like the channel for the o-ring is just too deep for the o-ring to actually make a seal, and the housing has to be perfectly square with the coupler to seal well. When the SWCG is off, the o-ring is barely proud the surface of the flange.
Any ideas of how to test out the seal?
