Hello, our filter leaks a little bit only when it is running at high speed. Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it? Thank you!IMG_3919.jpg

Looks like it is leaking from the drain plug.

Likely a bad O ring on the drain plug. Get a new O ring and replace it.

Less likely a crack around the drain plug. If so it will require a new filter.

What is your filter PSI?

When did you last clean the cartridge?

Maybe I'm confused, but you show two pics. The drain with a puddle under it and the leak up top at the pressure gauge. Not sure if the gauge is responsible for the puddle on teh ground. The gauge definitely looks like it needs a new O-ring. Maybe try some pool silicone lube for now if you have too until you can get a new one.

L,

It appears to me that it is leaking from the air relief valve and then running down the filter and dripping off by the drain plug.

Next time you clean the filter take the air relief valve off and replace the seal or O-ring between the relief valve the filter body.

Thanks

Jim R.

We will try the new O ring. We cleaned the cartridge a few weeks ago. It was leaking before and we cleaned it thinking it would solve the problem, but it didnt. When it is running at high speed the PSI is around 12. Thank you!

You are correct: there are two different leaks. The gauge is not responsible for the puddle on the ground. We looked at the manual and it doesnt look like there's an O ring by the gauge, but we will open it and see. Thank you!

The air relief valve may not be sealing properly. Hand turn the air relief open and close a few times and then give it a good turn closed and see if it fixes the leak. If not you may need to replace the air relief valve.

Part 18 is the drain plug O ring.

Part 2 is a replacement Air Relief Valve.

The o-rings are on the fitting that screws into the filter. There are two o-rings, one smaller than the other. If you want an alternative to replacing the entire air relief valve, you should be able to find the parts at an Ace Hardware where individual o-rings are sold out of a display case or box. The post below shows the correct size and SKU numbers for the parts...

Thanks you! This is some great info!

Update: we bought the O-rings and opened up the filter, but the o-rings were in perfect shape so we didnt replace them. We did put some lubricant, which we had never done before and that seems to have fixed the problem!!! Thank you everyone for all the help!!!
