First pool Tampa area - Plumbing question

They've broken my pool spirit, lol. I showed him my paperwork and a picture of what they were supposed to look like and then I just walked away and went back inside. I didn't even ask when they thought I could get the correct ones b/c it's pointless...but I may send them a text today asking, just for fun  I think I know what happened...the description of the bowls that the salesperson put on the paperwork isn't what the bowls are called by the manufacturer...so apparently instead of asking either the salesperson or me what bowls we wanted, they guessed...and wrong.

Finally got an answer from the plaster company on how they propose to fix the lines/cold seams that they left in the plaster (like where they stopped and then started again). There are 4 lines going from the top of the pool to the bottom. They want to drain the pool and then add plaster in those areas and then acid wash the areas that they add plaster. I'm not thrilled with dumping 21k gallons of water...seems like such a waste. There are a couple divots in the floor that maybe they can patch at the same time and a few spots that they didn't acid wash very well. I'm also wondering how well the new plaster will bond and will the color match.

Also, got a call from office lady today...she wanted to schedule adding salt to the pool...I'm like, do you guys not talk? Why we going to add salt to a pool that needs to be drained?

I have a build for you to pop over to show you can share the problems of each others build :(

Ask the PB what he is going to do WHEN the color does NOT match?
Oh, we certainly have been commiserating with each other for months thru PM!

Still attempting to get somewhere on the plaster issue with the gate keeper (I mean office lady) and failing. I've tried to keep cool but she is infuriating. So I said, "I'm done discussing this with you, when is the owner available to come out here?" Her response, "The owner doesn't have time to go from customer to customer that is complaining; he'd never get anything done." Ummmm, wut? I'm not a business owner, but I sorta feel like that should tell you something.

No other updates, just continued frustration. A neighbor of mine that is using the same PB is supposed to have the pool dug next week. Welcome to the sh*tshow...

Time to stop calling and put your problems in writing to them and get their responses in writing.

Write emails to them documenting what was said to you. Document what you said and what they responded.

Start building a trail of correspondence to take them to Small Claims Court if necessary.

Are they BBB accredited, if so I would try that and see if that gets their attention?

I think you will find complaints to the BBB are a waste of time.

If you wish to file a complaint against a contractor, you may contact the Department of Business & Professional Regulation online at www.myfloridalicense.com or by phone at (850) 487-1395. Additionally, you should file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office online at www.myfloridalegal.com or by phone toll-free at 1-866-9-NO-SCAM.

You may also file a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which acts as the State's consumer complaint clearinghouse, at www.floridaconsumerhelp.com.

Yes, I've really debated with myself if doing something like that will help or hurt. I also considered a Google review but I really am trying to work thru it without having to resort to that. Someone else wrote a bad review recently and they responded so I know they are at least seeing that. Part of what keeps me from doing that is as irritated as I am and as long as this is taking, there are worse PBs in Tampa...some TFP members are dealing with them, so then I talk myself out of it since it could be worse. Plus, I want to write everything thing down and give it to the owner in writing and if he ignores it as expected, then I'll post it online...but I've got to get to the point where I no longer care to try to be civil.

Yeah, I've attempted to get responses in email but they keep calling me, gah. I did do that today though...I sent an email back summarizing the call...which then generated another call, lol.
this is the right approach. Document every call with an email back to them stating this what was discussed and any actions. Then if they call you back to discuss, follow that up with another email. They will start to understand that everything is in writing and who knows, maybe the owner may actually be reading them Be civil and only the facts of the call.

Is it possible to show up at their office and ask to see the owner? Do you know what type of vehicle he/she may drive so you can verify if they are at the office? If you do go, then have print out of all the emails.

You are right that other PB's may be worst, but this PB may be moving down rather than be above his peers.
Good Luck.

During my build, I started a Google review of the business and updated it as the build went on. It included timelines, when things got done, and when things got delayed and why. I initially started this so others could get a true sense of what is involved in a pool build and see an actual timeline.

I let my pool builder know I was doing this, and they began following it as well. I think it helped them maintain a little focus on my build, since the review was out there and live and got a LOT of views. By the time the pool was finished, the pool builder thought it was a great idea. Just a thought!

Here is my review:

The best part about "the owner doesn't have time to go to customers..." is that I live literally 3 miles from their office. I will for sure be mentioning that when I email the owner (and in the Google review if I do one). Herman, I do not know what type of vehicle he drives unfortunately. @PoolBrews I couldn't figure out which was your review...link seems to be general...how many months or years ago was it so I can sort by date.

Finally got the plaster people to come out and try to fix the plaster which required draining the pool. Pretty sure it was a waste of 21k gallons of water...not sure the "fix" looks any better. I did not expect the water to be green again when we refilled...guess I thought that happened the first time b/c the plaster was curing. I'm pretty much over it and ready to just accept the plaster and be satisfied with leaving a bad google review...my bf all of a sudden is worked up about it...I'm like...you may talk to the PB and plaster people going forward then b/c I'm over it.

The only update that I have gotten about the bowls is one of the office people forwarded me an email to "prove" she ordered the correct bowls and it was the manufacturer that messed up. The email also proved that she ordered the bowls months after they told me they had, gah!

I mentioned in a prior post about my girl cat not being as smart as I thought she was...last night she fell into the pool b/c she was trying to drink the nasty pool water as it was filling up! 🤣 She's fine, she fell onto the sunshelf and got herself out...we only knew it happened b/c she ran inside soaking wet and we went back and looked at the video...hopefully she has learned her lesson but I doubt it.

Got 2 things done in one day (absolutely shocking)...deck jets installed and their part of the autofill done (one annoying thing about the autofill is they can't actually connect to the house...need a licensed plumber...which I don't know why they can line up all other trades but not plumbers but anyway, I knew this ahead of time, just odd).

Back in Dec, the wrong bowls were delivered....silly me...I assumed (ahem) that they would reorder the correct ones immediately. The other day they had a new guy email me and ask me to confirm what the right color was. Almost ONE MONTH LATER! So of course I as calmly as I could (not at all) email back and asked why they were just now reordering and told them I thought it was a real nice move to pass me off onto an unsuspecting new guy!
