We just got back from a two week vacation, and I started getting error messages from the SWG on day 2. Based on what I've learned here, I didn't panic and enjoyed the vacation, knowing that TFP had taught me what I needed to know to fix things when we got back.
Returned to dull, but not cloudy or green pool. Testing showed 0 FC, 0 CC, 8,+ pH, and low salt.
Added two gallons of LC, 1/2 gal of MA. I'll add another gallon of FC tonight and test tomorrow to determine if we need a full SLAM. I'll also buy and add salt.

Bottom line, pool isn't perfect now, but TFC has taught me to know my pool and address any issues that arise.

Well, after recovering from a two week camping trip to Minnesota and back, I plan to add salt, clean the filter and clean the SWG. All that may not happen before mid-week ( did I mention vacation recovery? plus, people wanting me to get back to WORK!?!!) so in the meantime I'll make sure FC is high enough to stave off trouble. Also, my CYA is low again (I almost giggle when I read the "oh no cya never goes away" posts.. NOT the case on the west coast of Florida in the summer) so another 10 pounds should arrive from Amazon early in the week, and I'll get that back up to the right range, too.
The great news is that we could swim right now (if we had the energy), and I know it'll be sparkling in time for our Labor Day festivities.
😁

So... added salt, added more acid. Chemistry was looking good yesterday. Crystal clear (TFP clear!) this morning. Still need to add CYA (delivery delays) and clean SWG and filter (rain and moral fiber delays), but all is well. :)

Last update... Cleaned SWG (including acid per instructions... Based on how much it fizzed, it was due), clean filter, retested salt which was still on the low side due to all the rain and drain this week. So I added another bag of salt. Also added cya. I'll test that tomorrow and see if I need to add more. Threw in our robot to pick up whatever might be on the bottom after all the rains.
Bottom line, pool is looking gorgeous for the holiday weekend.
