I’m in the process of converting from Baqua to chlorine. I’m following the process outlined, and once it’s converted and I add the CYA to 30 ppm, and the FC is 15, how do I get it down to the recommended level of 4-5? Just wait? What is the maximum and minimum FC that is safe to swim in? And boy is the pool cloudy and green right now! Hope the process doesn’t take toooo long!

Welcome to the forum!
Once you complete the process and add the CYA, you follow the FC/CYA Levels
FC will lower naturally with sun on the pool surface.
You can swim in a pool with up to SLAM level FC as long as you can see the bottom of the pool.
For a CYA of 30, a FC of 12 ppm is SLAM level.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

You are going to be SOoooooo glad you did this. Just wait and see how sparkling clear a chlorine pool is and the money (oy! the money!!) you'll save.
Keep it up... we love happy people telling us later "I wish I'd done it sooner!" (<--we hear that a lot)

I got up early to add chlorine before the sun came up and it wanted 4 gallons to get to 15 FC. I added 2 gallons chlorine and 2 gallons acid by mistake! Will it be ok to dissipate naturally???? Lots of sun here in the desert!

Is it a suction or pressure vacuum? Those types of cleaners should not be bothered by the slightly elevated chlorine levels.

When you can, a signature detailing your pool and equipment will help.

I’ll add more when I can..I need to look it up. Somehow I have in my mind bleach will deteriorate plastic, though my husband noted it comes in a plastic bottle. LoL

The elevated FC might fade the colors a bit. Though UV from the sun does that far more than bleach.

Looks good. What filter do you have? You need to change the media if you have not done so.
