Socket. They are very rusted. They actually started rounding off
I decided to leave well enough alone and use it as it is.The bearing isn’t that bad and should last a while for a spa pump hopefully
No, sorry. New one is up and running like a champ. Quieter then the old and moving more water. I have always pinched pennies but went for of the best and it's nice.
Sometimes the most expensive is also the best value. Hard to put a price on peace & quiet.
Like setsails said now is the time to lube up those screws. At least the ones holding the end cover so you can get in there for maintenance. Doing the long screws may void the warranty but you could give it a try after the warranty expires.
Old pump ran at 2100 rpm but didn’t have enough flow to feed pool returns and spa and keep the water fall heathy looking. My clamp on meter showed it pulled around 2.2 amps which is I remember V x amps is around 480
New pump is at 1800 and feeding all returns and says 360 watts so is pretty efficient. I am running it from 8am until 11pm just because I like it skimming but with pumps getting more and more efficient the old days of running a pump at the minimum time are going away
Its only been a couple of days but I like the new pump. Just hope it last 10 years
This morning I went outside and was panicking thinking it wasn't running, it was just so quiet you can't hardly hear it running 2' away!
