I’m helping my son with his pool in Phoenix, AZ. The water needs to be changed badly because of crazy high CYA and CH. I’ve been told that his plaster may crack if drained in this heat, it’s already old and in bad shape and he plans to get it redone in a couple years.

Anyone have any experience doing this in triple digit heat?

Thanks, you being in Nevada should be about the same as here no? So if my pool and fill water is about the same how would you do it? Have you ever done this in the summer? My alkalinity is about 190 ( I know i can adjust) but the CH was about 1200 and the CYA wasn’t even measurable the black dot disappeared almost after the first squirt so it’s very very high.

Did you read the wiki article? Use the calculation in it to see how different your pool and fill water are.
