Contemplating switching from pebblesheen to quartz last minute

Dschnell-- That water is GORGEOUS!! Did you use signature matrix? We are using prism matrix which has the blue beads in it. I understand its not as smooth as signature matrix though. But SHEESH- that water! Closely following your build Jennifer!
Thank you! Still trying to get used to it. We just renovated what was a lagoon pool which was black bottom finish and all natural tile (no color) so the color is kind of shocking my system right now 😂
I have Tahoe Signature Matrix with the sapphire blend beads added...2 40lb bags of glass beads and then they also hand casted the glass over the pool floor, sunshelf, bench and steps. So the same look and beads as your Prism Matrix but without abalone. It should be the same smoothness as both the Signature and Prism have a blend of large and small pebble (I believe).

Here is my Wet Edge just completed yesterday! I also had concerns about the abalone shell so my builder suggested putting glass beads in instead. I did a sapphire blend glass bead in my Tahoe blue. The beads sparkles and glistens in the sun 🤩 and I don't have to worry about deterioration or loss of sparkle over the years. That might be an option if you have any concern whatsoever about abalone.
Wow that looks so beautiful!! So your finish is a blend of the regular pebbles and mini pebbles?

I have the abalone shells in my Primera Stone. If I was to do it again the abalone would be the first thing I got rid of. You are bound to get some exposed shells in which case u will get the “rusted” spot look from the proteins. You can try to chip them out and reseal but once you get the water in are u really going to do that? Good job ditching the abalone. U made the right call.

Signature Matrix comes as a blend of large and small pebbles. The only thing I did differently was add the glass blend to the finish in the mix as well as hand casting for a bit of iridescent sparkle. The finish, to me, is not super rough at all! I believe it's the way the smaller pebbles compact in between the larger pebbles that make it feel smoother. It's nice to have the large pebbled look though!

That's was my fear. I still get the sparkle I was looking for with the iridescent glass blend.
