So, I am new to the forum as a user, but have read so many posts on here over the past year, I feel like I have been part of the forum for a long time.
I know there are MANY wicked smart people on this forum and am hoping that someone may have some ideas with my balance problem. First, let me share my current readings (Taylor Test Kit - The strips should not be allowed and NO, I did not get these from the pool store

FC - 5 (a bit too high)
TC - 5
Alkalinity - 120
PH - 7.6
Stabilizer - 35
Calcium - 310
Salt - 3100
Water Temp - 84
Phosphates - Non-existant, less than 100
Orb3 Pool Enzymes
On the Orenda App I am showing an LSI balance of .08.... Hard to get it perfect
So, what is wrong? Well.......... I am sitting at the upper parameter of Alkalinity to do my best to lock in PH. Sounds reasonable, right? But, to stay in this region, I am adding 3.5-4.5 pounds of sodium bicarb a week. It is not unusual for my PH to rise .2 or .3 a day. Thus, more Muratic Acid at the rate of a gallon every 7-10 days or so.... Muratic Acid drives down Alkalinity and I am stuck in this loop. IF I leave alkalinity lower (80-90), the PH float is more extreme.
Now, this is a relatively new pool. Maybe 15 months old. I also do have an "automatic" acid feeder. I say "automatic" because while the Sense and Dispense system does add acid automatically, it takes a lot to make it work properly, and keep it running. If anyone wants more information about this system, I can write a book. Needless to say, I manually calibrate my PH probes and clear error messages on the "PH" on the OmniLogic several times a week to keep it running. So, I have not been using it, in interest of trying to solve this problem.
I do have a couple things with the pool that could be causing the PH to float up. An SWG that runs about 10%-15% of the time on a filter run time of about 11 hours a day (3 hours at 90%, 8 hours at 50%) AND my hot tub (in the pool) overflows to the pool with a drop of a few inches.
My hunch is the hot tub overflow is causing aeriation and that is driving PH, as well as the SWG. But, still this seems dramatic.
I am thinking of turning off the SWG for a couple weeks and put a Chlorine tab floaty in the pool to see if things calm down? Does anyone here have any thoughts or has ever seen this before? Any advice is appreciated because I literally CANNOT find anything on the web that talks of this problem.
