I took it to mean the pool will be on its own support structure independent of the house. So build a pool then build a house around it sort of thing.

I think I read it the same, but everyone is questioning the pool on top of the structure in the picture. If the pool truly is it’s own free standing structure that is flush against the house/anchored into the house, that isn’t accounted for in some of this discussion.

I had no idea they build stainless pools that big. I don’t know what the potential downsides of a stainless steel pool would be, but I would think it would be very durable. I would suggest researching the different pool types and understanding their pros and cons. Personally I would prefer a fiberglass pool followed by a vinyl. You will have to replace a vinyl liner every 5 to 15 years but it’s a lot cheaper and easier process then re plastering a concrete pool. If you decide to go vinyl I would recommend choosing a liner that has a solid base color though out. Our current liner is an electric blue color. It’s pattern is printed on top of a solid blue base material. The liner we replaced had a blue pattern printed on a white base material. When we replaced it the pool was completely white as the blue print had completely faded away. We chose the current liner strictly because it can’t fade completely white and in theory should look nice a lot longer.

As it stand now we are limited to basic stainless steel stairs for accessing the pool. Our hope is a concrete walk-in but that may violate our weight limitation. I still hope to come across a light material that can be used for the sort of elegant pool access we are looking for.

I can’t quite contemplate what the structure of a vinyl pool suspended in the air would consist of. If you have a way to create a strong and lightweight pool structure, at that point you could look at a fiberglass coating for it.

Is anyone familiar with T-Sonik PW water treatment system? The pool company we are considering informed us that there is a new technology called T-Sonic PW which will eliminate the need for Chlorine or chlorinator in our case. They said the salt water option we had selected will not be necessary of we go with the T-Sonik option. We don't yet know the price of the product but I wanted to ask if anyone have heard of it or has experience with it.

The problem with any of these systems is that they do not provide passive sanitation. The only water being sanitized is the water passing through it at any given point in time. So for example, if a bird poops in your pool or some other contaminant enters it, that water will not be sanitized until is passes through the device. With chlorination, the chlorine is in all the water, and will begin killing the pathogen as soon as it enters the water, without regard to whether your pump is running, and without waiting for it to pass through the device.

So I would not say it eliminates the need for chlorine.

T-Sonik PW is a device designed for swimming pools and wellness centres, which can eliminate bacteria and algae, thus reducing – and in some cases, eliminating – the use of chemical products for the sanitisation of water.

So what does that mean, Stir ? It means they have a device which treats the water passing through it which very well may work. On paper, both UV and Ozone systems work. Not sure what sort of virbrations/sounds they use, Maybe they serenade the water with Sweet Caroline on a repeat loop. But without a residual sanitizer, 99.999999% of the water goes stagnant.

So you may use the system, but need to treat in full with chlorine like it isn’t there. So why get it if you still have to fully treat ?

It took a bit of research to completely rid my mind of chlorine misinformation, but at the end of the day, chlorine buffered with stabiliser, and managed to prevent any accumulation of combined chlorine, is the gentlest, safest and most reliable way to keep a swimming pool safe for bathers.

Trouble Free Pool Care (TFPC) has all the tools needed to achieve this without any need for other systems.

The pool construction has not yet begun. The bar deck has just been slabbed and has to cure a minimum of 29 days before the form work for the pool can begin. We are discussing the possibility of using acrylic glass for the two infinity sides. The idea is that it will enhance the look as well as reduce the overall weight. We expect construction to start soon but some of the details is yet to be confirmed. The design is an infinity on two cantilevered sides and in-peach pool area.

I understand the concern but I will once again respectfully request restraint of structural engineering inquiries. There are some very smart people being paid lots of dough to take care of all things structural and for the safety of construction. I will ask the same for location for privacy and safety reasons.
