I’m looking to fire my pool guy. I think I finally have a good handle of testing and just tested my water and not happy with the results. Seems like he just cleans throws some chlorine and acid and calls it a day!

I read some older threads regarding pool robots but I was wondering what the best robots to purchase (price and quality) these days? Not sure if new models came out this year and want the most up to date model! Can’t wait to save 120$ a month by not paying this guy! Thank you all!

A lot more f folks here love the s200 or pentair SE ( same thing ). Can get it at marina pool and spa for $699 delivered.
Will also scrub the tile line

Many of us have a Maytronics line of robot. You can spend $700 for a robot that cleans your pool. Or you can spend twice that for one with a caddy, wifi, bluetooth, etc. Call Marina Pool Spa in Denver tomorrow and speak with Margaret or Seth.

I will chime in on the above too about the positive experience with Marina/Margaret and Seth. I am a S200 convert and just had to try to get a warranty repair on a bad motor after 18 months. After calling Maytronics directly and wasting my time there and with the local dealers, I just called Margaret and Seth who immediately sent me a new motor under warranty. These S200 are so simple to fix about anything, 5 min and a screwdriver is all it took to swap the motor. Simple, reliable (relatively), and easy to fix cleaner.

I too am looking to replace my broken beyond repair Polaris 280, and want to get away from that 3-wheel pressure side cleaner design that was constantly requiring me to replace parts, over and over. It also performed poorly in my pool. I’m interested in a robotic cleaner, or possibly the Polaris Quattro, which has the body of a robotic and can climb walls and scrub, but is a pressure side cleaner. I’m only familiar with Polaris, and want a robotic in that price range, which I hope is doable with the holiday sales season. Is it a drawback that the S200 doesn’t have a caddy? I want the organizational convenience of stowing it away easily in a corner nook of my patio. It’s already annoying enough with a hose, pool pole items, vacuum and hose, etc. Are there other caddy options? Are there other robotic options that people like that are at a good price point in the $700 to $800 range? I see the Polaris 9450 at $900. Is that a good option and price? Pretty much relying on advice here since I am a first time pool owner for only 3 years.

You can get the Dolphin S200 or Pentair SE ( same model ) for $699 with free shipping. I just carry mine or buy a caddy separate. I Leave mine in the pool most of the time.
Works great, climbs and scrubs the tile line also

I just ordered the Pentair SI over the SE, from Seth at Marina Pool and Spa. I thought the extra $50 might be worth it for the Bluetooth control, since I have two spots in my pool where dirt accumulates and my Polaris 280 always missed them. That way if it’s bugging me I can control it to work those spots. It also has a couple extra cleaning cycles.

did it arrive? I'm thinking of ordering the SI as well, $50 more is worth it for my kids to have fun driving it around.

If I had to do it over again, I would get the S200. I Bought a Titan PS Plus for $1049 on Amazon, which is equal to the S300i, without a caddy. I love it and the Bluetooth and WiFi are great additions. But you don't NEED those. You can get Alex/Google Home compatible switches which can automate the S200 or equal.

I love automation mode. Run mine for 90 minutes at 1am then another 2 hours at 5am during the early summer.
As the trees stopped dropping Crud I ran it a few times a week

So S200 + wifi plug with schedule seems like the way to go. Here is my biggest hesitation with replacing my Polaris 380 with S200: cord tangling/twisting. I had the original Active 20 with non-swivel cord, and had to unplug to untwist the cord every 3 days, which was annoying to say the least. How much better is the new S200 with swivel cord? I’ve read a lot of complaints about this.

I have never had an issue with the cord. It will twist up some but the robot is strong enough it will untangle it's self. When my cord did twist more then usual I took the swivel joint apart and cleaned and added a tad of pool lube on the cord and it helped. Mine stays in the pool almost 24x7
Curious what others have to say also

Pool is 30x15. No tanning shelf just some steps and one seat in the corner

I think all of the newer ones have the anti-twist module installed.

If you are under 33 feet, check out the Doheny's Advantage, which is on-sale for $599. The one they call Mercury is the exact same as mine.

I'd also like to leave the S200 in the pool 24/7. how often did you have to take the swivel joint apart?
