New Pool - Cloudy Water

14,000 gal above ground vinyl pool. New to managing a pool!
Day 1: Managed to get rid of the algae by using a shock treatment and Algicide + Clarifier (Poly (oxyethelene(dimethyliminio) ethylene (dimethyliminio ethylene dichloride) 6.0%. I guess this is the dichlor that is supposedly not good but my husband bought it before I could talk to him!
Day 2: Ph is 8 so added 1.5c Ph Down (Sodium Bisulfate 93.2%) twice. Added another shock because chlorine is zilch. Also put in new filter that arrived.
Day 3: I don't have a CYA test kit yet so I have no idea what it is. I guess I need to shock with liquid bleach?

Welcome to the forum!
You need to follow the SLAM Process. To do that, you need a proper test kit. I suggest the TF-100 A proper test kit is needed to get the accurate water chemistry results needed to follow the TFP protocols.

While you are waiting on your test kit, add 5 ppm FC worth of liquid chlorine / plain bleach to your pool each evening with the pump running. This will replenish the FC lost each day to the sun and also inhibit any algae in the water from growing further.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

What can you test for? You should have a FC level that is based on your CYA. But you say you do not know your CYA. Have you ever had a CYA level provided to you? How have you been chlorinating the water?
Also, can you see the bottom of the pool? How cloudy is the water?

New pool. Just filled about a week ago. Just getting started with testing, etc. I can see the bottom of the pool. It’s only a little cloudy now. A lot better than it was.

So you have added little stabilizer/CYA. I suspect that if you follow what I directed above about adding liquid chlorine every day, your pool water is safe to swim in.

So we ended up draining the pool because we found something was under it threatening to make a hole and also we patched some holes. So it's full of fresh water now.

CYA filled up test tube to 30 and can still see the dot well. ?

If you drained the pool, there is no CYA in the pool water. Add 30 ppm worth of stabilizer to increase your CYA.

Is your CC really 2? Check that.

CC is maybe closer to 1.0. Somewhere in betw 1 and 2. It's bright yellow.

If you are using the OTO test, that is TC and not accurate. Use the FAS-DPD test for FC and CC.

Is that measuring CC or TC? TC at or close to FC is good.

Is Orthotolidine the OTO test? I'm using the kit my husband bought. I ordered the TF-100 kit from TFP. Waiting for it to come in.

Good job on testing with your new kit.
Lower your pH to 7.2 using acid.
Add 30 ppm CYA worth of stabilizer/conditioner. While that is dissolving, raise your FC to 12 ppm with liquid chlorine. Maintain the FC at 12 ppm by testing FC and adding liquid chlorine at least 3-4 times per day. Read the SLAM Process
