I’m getting varying results from pool store versus my TF-100 test kit. I have a SpeedStir as well. 18k gallon SWG gunite pool we recently acid washed the Quartzscapes finish 2 weeks ago.

My results today:
Ph 7.4
TA- 80
Calcium- 500
CYA- 60
salt- Intellichlor read out 3150

Their results:
Ph- 7.4
TA- 90
Calcium- 320
CYA- 100
Salt- 3500

Why such a diff???

No argument about trying to sell me stuff, however in this particular instance nothing was suggested. The CYA high doesn’t call for anything to sell me. They use the Taylor reagents so just trying to understand how they come up with diff results. Not arguing, just trying to understand. First time pool owner here!

The best advice we can give is to stay out of the pool store. Especially for testing your pool water chemistry. It will just confuse you. You have the finest residential pool owner test kit there is. Use it. You care about your pool and know your pool and will be consistent in how you test.

Without caring about your needs, or just being in a rush, the kid behind the counter probably cares none about consistent drops as they surfed insta while testing. Um, it was like 12 drops or something ??
