Just getting started-can I start with just bleach?

Hi all!
We set up our Intext easy set (15x48, roughly 3500 gallons) yesterday. The filter is running and I didn't order any chemicals yet. I did order test strips. I am overwhelmed and nervous! I appreciate your help and patience.
My current FC level is 0.
The recommendation from Pool Math is to add 2 cups and 6 oz of 6% bleach (aldi). Can I do this and go from there?

Yes.

Add bleach with pump running, wait 15 minutes, add kids.

You can deal with CYA and pH adjustments later.

Cancel the test strips if you can. They're just not accurate enough for our purposes. Ph Strip vs drop test, severe discrepancy (pic)

You will need to add some CYA. The good news is, you can be sure there is none in the water straight from the tap so you don't need a test kit to add that.

Yes, that's on my list. I have read and re-read the ABC's and the recommended chemicals, made notes, etc...
For me, using this pool for roughly 3-4 months this year, what is the CYA that you would recommend for ease of use? I know it's a pricier chemical, but for me right now, ease is worth some money (young kids, working full time). Again-thank you so much. Megan

Start by adding 30 ppm worth of CYA. Use the sock method.

What test kit did you order? Your pool size could be treated as a Seasonal pool, thought that would mean you might have to drain and refill once or twice a season due to contaminants.

Got it. I am going to pick up my CYA today. I got a "cheapo" test kit (as recommended on the Seasonal Pool forum). I will begin today by adding in the bleach and CYA and go from there-I will test tonight. I also have the pool math app. Thanks, again. Megan
