I have a favor: Can someone please check out my pool logs and verify all looks good, from your perspective? Today is day 7 of SLAM.. Pool is blue and just waiting on it to become clear... Getting so close and I'm pretty sure there is no need to question myself, but another set of eyes never hurts.

Thanks-
Becky

Becky, about a week ago you showed a CYA of 30 (FC of 12), but yesterday a CYA of 40, so that would require an FC level of 16. You've been close - up & down a bit from what I can tell, but not too bad. But try to keep it from dipping too low under 16 if you can. It might help us to see a pic of your water. And just so we know the history, how old is the filter and when was the last time it was opened and sand deep cleaned?

Before I forget .... any items in the pool that could hide algae? Hollow steps, ladder, light niche, etc?

Yes, I added a bit more Stabilizer, as CYA was still reading below 30 (and was rounding up)- so Now CYA is 40 and SLAMMING at 16, starting last night. The ladder is in there and pretty sure there are no issues. No lights, no steps.
No idea how old the Filter is (it was here when we moved in 3 years ago) and I've never deep cleaned the sand.

Wow, quite an improvement! :goodjob: I doubt those rails are a player. If you have a main drain you might check that. But most definitely do a deep clean. That could be it right there, especially since you don't know the history with the previous owners. In fact, when you open it up, pay close attention to the sand itself to see if it looks gummed-up or sticky. That would be a sign someone used floc or clarifiers in the past which can ruin sand. Otherwise, a deep clean can do wonders.

Ok- I deep cleaned the sand fliter today- It was actually very clean and sand was still very fine.. Pool hasnt changed much since my last post.. Im starting to wonder if my pool size is off and may be bigger than I thought.. Should I add a little more LC than what app says to maybe compensate for that? All tests results are in Pool Math logs. I'm testing every 3-4 hours and have not needed to backwash in 2 days.. I know sand filters are slow to filter and perhaps I just need to practice POP!

It appears to be using FC at a decent rate. Might be time to try the DE. The link is at the end on the SLAM Process article

Thanks, @Richard320 ! I will see how it is tomorrow morning and will possibly add some DE, at that time... Do you happen to know how long DE lasts? Does it go bad? I know the bag I have has been here (opened) since I bought the house 3 years ago

It never goes bad.

It's petrified sea organisms. It'll outlast the bag it's in by centuries.
