Long time dolphin s200 active 20 owner question

Do you ever do a deep filter cleaning, more then spraying water in and out and getting the fine dirt out? Ever have to soak them or use chemicals?

Also has anybody ever had to replace theirs?

We had a storm last night and the basket was 1/2 full with pollen worms but the filters were also yellow. They rinsed off easy enough

So I assume you are talking about the pleated filters. Whenever I am preparing to do a pool filter TSP soak, I actually do the robot filters first. Kill 2 birds.

It can't hurt, but I doubt it makes any actual difference other than the color...

I now have a 6 year old Premier that still has the same pleated filters that have never been soaked in anything. They work just fine.. Honestly, I expect the machine to give up the ghost before the filters go bad.

My oldest S200 is about 1.5 years old and the same goes for it.

I received my first ever S200 one month ago and have been using the screen filters ever since. Yesterday I switched over to the pleated ones, to see if they cleaned any better than my screen filters (which clean great BTW). The pleated ones also did a great job but I found it harder to get them clean while hosing them down - more pollen bits and pieces remained in the pleats. Anyone else experience that?

I leave then both in, the screen gets the big stuff but the pleated still catch's small stuff like Pollen..During our bad part of the year by pleated were yellow after a day

So it looks like your screen filter is different than mine. Yours appears to be designed only to be used in combination with the pleated filter. Is this true, or can you use your screen filter alone?

I don’t think I can because it doesn’t have a bottom. I asked for the filter upgrade but only one I have seen so can’t compare ? can you post a picture of yours?

He is using the inner filter basket from the S300, S300i, Active 30, Active 30i. You can buy that from Marina and often offer it when you purchase an S200 variant.

Right now I'm at a crossroads, because my Doheny Discovery is on it's fourth season and needs some maintenace items, like a new cord, tracks, leaf grids, rubber anti drain back flap.s. That all adds up to $200 - $250 on an out of warranty robot that might die.

That makes sense, only one I have ever owned and asked for the upgrade people mentioned here,,I like it because it catch's a lot of junk before it even hits the pleated ones

No wonder you couldn't run them both at the same time.

Is this screen insert you're right referring to a single box which fits inside my pleated filter assembly, or 4 individual mesh filters built to fit inside? Couldn't find it on Marina's website.

Thanks @Fast7. So that insert fits inside my pleated basket? And then I just need to clean the insert, which is like cleaning the mesh (screen) filters I have now?

The screen filter is pretty fine and does a great job catching a lot of stuff. Now that pollen season is done in Ga I just clean the insert and just give the pleated ones a quick rinse
I would recommend adding it also.
