Jandy LED Lights. Trying & Looking For Red Option.

Hello All. Just got my pool finished and water filled on Thanksgiving day. I have (3) (Blue Square) Jandy K1008-J pool lights along with a tanning ledge light and bubbler light. I cannot choose a color red from the menu. However, the iAquaLink 2.0 app has a USA option where the lights scroll from through red white and blue. I can select a white and blue option separately but cannot select red. Really interested in changing some to red for my Christmas light scheme. Any ideas out there?

Furthermore the actual lights are setup in the system as Jandy LED colors. If I change them to Jandy color option in the light setup menu, a red option will come up. However, the lights will turn red for a second or two and then turn to white and stay white.

It has to be something in the programming or something I can change!

I guess you have tried or wanted the same? The PB says that there were complaints the red looked like blood so they don't allow it. He's going to talk to the rep this week and see what he says.

Yep we were commenting on that a couple months ago. At night it is the most subdued of the colors so would be great if you could choose it. We opt for the dark blue instead.

Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead, but I am having the same issue. Is there any known workaround yet? Kind of a strange limitation...

I doubt it since this is controlled within the light and the light firmware is not flashable. There is no way externally to send a signal that would make it red.

10 4. I can hear a relay flipping on and off to turn the light to a certain color, so I wan't sure if it was just skipping the required number of on/off cycles to turn it red...

Also do you know iff Blue Square Mfg is a subsidiary of Jandy? The PB set everything up for me and these lights have a really nice interface in the iphone app, but I don't see any mention of Blue Square in the iAqualink setup. Are they setup under Jandy LED WaterColors or JandyColors? Thanks!

I never heard of them but that same basic selection screen is also available in the iAqualink app. Are you saying those lights are not the Jandy lights?

Yep, I have that same screen in the web app.

I believe these are the lights I have:

And documentation:

Seems like they are third part lights designed to work with Jandy... I see they have Pentair and Hayward models too, which like you said must have different firmware since they have red available.

I'd say they are the exact same light. Either a copy or they are made under license from Jandy. They don't have red (by itself) btw just like Jandy. The lights are identical in operations and colors/schemes. I would choose the Jandy LED watercolors for control.

Looking at pictures from Google, they appear to be different products. The Jandy LED WaterColors looks like it fits in a full size niche (with the option for a smaller spa light), whereas the Spectrum 360 is a 'mini niche' and only comes in 1 size. Seems like Blue Square is making lights that mimic the characteristics of established brands so they can be used with their programming. Not sure if this is with or without Jandy's blessing?

In any event the Spectrum 360's are very low profile and produce some very attractive shades of light. No complaints outside the lack of a red color... :)
