I noticed that when I export my results to a CSV there is a column for SWG Cell %. I would love to record this when I'm adding my logs but I can't seem to find a place to input the value. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks! I did try that but it doesn't show under that column in the export. It would be great to have a setting like the Track CSI option so I could put the current SWG in the logs.

That column may be related to an old field in the database we used to have. Before logging SWG use as a chemical addition, the Maintenance log contain an SWG % field. That was gotten rid of in version 3 of the app ... I think. So the export code may just be adding that column.

One major update for the app that is sorely needing is better SWG tracking. There’s no good reason to force a user to do a daily chemical addition for the SWG. Once setup, the App should either automatically calculate daily additions OR use SWG data in its Reporting section to account for SWG output. It’s being worked on but there’s still not full agreement on the best approach. Hopefully our App developer will put down his never-ending plate of poutine and stop binge-watching on Netflix long enough to figure out a good fix.....

HAHA!

I love the idea of the automatic calculation but it be happy with just being able to log it with my test results. I'm looking at my results from last year and I can see my FC but I have no idea what my SWG was set to to have that result. I would love knowing something like "in July my SWG was at 20% and my FC was 6 with a water temp of 80f".

I've been putting that kind of info in a note, which gets date/time stamped. Admittedly, I've never referred back to those notes, so I'm not sure how or if they get individually or collectively exported (notes only). If they can't, they certainly should.

They do show up in the log. Which can be exported (shared) and then referred to later.

Hmm, that's a tough one. It's not an addition, it's a setting. And it's not a test result. And there's a lot of parameters (size/output of SWG, pump runtime, SWG % setting). Since it's become such an integral part of TFPC, maybe it needs it's own interface/section. And if that's the case, I'll want one for my IntellipH, too! Then there's the Stenner crowd.* Maybe an "Automated Chemical Dispenser" section, to track the various parameters and how they change throughout the year. If that then somehow reconciled with FC and pH test results, like on a graph, so one could see how settings changes affect chem balance, that would be awesome.

* My auto correct kept trying to make that "the Stoner crowd!"

If every time you adjusted the SWCG you used Chemical Addition or Notes, it is in your Logs. I just look back at that. Again, I don't print out anything. Just scroll back in Logs.

What would be handy for me, is a single screen/page that kept track of my SWG and my IpH, like:

March 1: Set SWG to 35%, runtime to 4 hrs
May 15: Set SWG to 50%, runtime to 6 hrs
July 5: Set SWG to 60%, runtime to 8 hrs
August 1: Set SWG to 40%, runtime to 8 hrs
October 30: Set SWG to 0%, runtime to 3 hrs

Something similar for IntellipH. Include % dilution of acid.

Something similar for Stenners, and other types of auto dispensers...

Etc.

The interface could be fairly simple, maybe a dozen or so sets of fields. Maybe the ability to add pages, if someone needed to track year-after-year history?

Instead of having to hunt down notes, in a very long log, and only be able to see them one at a time.

As I said, the App sorely needs updating for SWG users .... @Leebo works best under pressure so send all your death-threats....ummmm, I mean......helpful suggestions to him. He’ll be sure to file those in the appropriate round file cabinet. I think there’s one specially marked “Anything @Dirk Says...”

As Matt mentioned this was meant to be deleted last year, but we totally ignored almost any thought anything related to exporting data. Truth is, I’m not even sure if I can explain how to export data right now. Our long term goal is to make all data accessible in the App, no need to export.

As Matt said Improved SWG tracking is on our plate when we start back up. The largest item we need to determine is how do we track data for an extended period of time while also still cutting a user off at some point. If a user sets the App to track a setting today and they don’t touch it for the next year it’ll likely do two things, give false data to the user and blow up our database. The growth of the App is coming close to outgrowing the server as is, too much data being saved may push us over the edge.

Do we know how long the log tracks? Is it a year? Does it reset? Is it forever? Is there a limit?
Only so long is saved on your device. Once that limit is reached the App simply pulls the data from the server. As is we have no desire to have any data “reset.”

So does that mean, at least for now, there is no limit, and all the log entries we make are saved indefinitely (only the most current on the device, but all of them on the server)?

I don't want to say yes without a doubt, but yes. As far as I know there is no limit. I’ll get a definite answer tomorrow however.

I like to export the logs so I can graph some of the data. Please don't do away with this capability.

I just wish EVERYTHING exported. All the test results do, but not the additions .... at least when using the Windows version of the app.
