Thanks for you explanation; it gives me a much better understanding of the two types of circuits. The relay seems to act like a safety switch that allows you to use a lower voltage circuit to control something that requires a lot more electricity (my non-technical take). Attached is a picture of my ET 4 wall panel. As I mentioned, there is nothing assigned to Aux3 or any of the Feature circuits.
