2 nails fell in my pool

I’m having some siding work done on the house and there are 2 nails in my pool I can get out. My robot can’t either.

So...my plan is to run the heater all night (current water temp is 56) and go in tomorrow and get them out of the shallow end.

They fell in today...is waiting until tomorrow OK, or should I jump in now? I really hope the answer is I can wait!!

If they stain, just use some vitamin C to remove it.

What about a magnet tied to some string? Get them out before they stain. If they do stain, try Vitamin C tablets on the area.

Have someone hold a deep net in front of the nails and then use a brush to generate a burst of water directly toward the net without touching the nails and they will jump into the net.

No magnet. I tried the bush/net combo trick for about 20 mins, no luck.

Heat the spa and get some liquid courage in you. That helped me with our family polar plunge on new years. I last about about a minute, but the kids have been getting in for several minutes at a time. Heck, if you have kids heat the spa and pay them $5 a nail.

Ha! I just texted that same thing to my wife. I spent $3.50 on the hook, and it costs me $1.75/hr to run my heater. I just re-cooped my TFP donation.

BOOM!!

Note that some magnets can leave marks if scratched on the floor.

You can cover the magnet with cloth if necessary.

I keep a rolling magnet sweeper handy in my garage and always go over work areas to pick up nails, screws, etc, especially near my driveway and pool. Here's one from Harbor Freight.
