Do you check your pool daily?

I’m retired and a nut also with my house, yard- pool. If I’m not doing something I fell like I’m doing something wrong. See those chairs around the pool. I never sat or laying on them - not once !!!!

I'm not a Type A, but my wife is. I think she got it from her parents and siblings. My only issue with Type A's is that i'm concerned that they will die early from stress. I also find it strange to hang with them since they don't seem to live in the "present" and are always looking for something to "do" rather than to just "be". To each his own!

First. What is As ? Yes, I’m always doing something. I also fish a lot on my boat and surf fish at night from the beach using lures. I do enjoy my self. I’m not the one to lay out and suck up the sun. I never lay down in day light. Never !!! I try laying down once and I start looking around and find things to do. Funny you said that. I was laying around the pool only because my wife said you have to busted toes just came home from hospital for my knee - will you please lay next to the pool and relax. So I did. I started seeing this massive tree next to my pool and leaves were falling into the pool. I called my buddy and in 20 minutes I was taking it down.

:laughblue: :laughblue::laughblue::laughblue: Anytime I get the chance to float around all afternoon I’m noticing widowmakers up in the trees within 5 minutes. Or weeds growing in a corner of the yard. Or a beehive or 3 on the back of the house. The lounging gets cut short EVERYTIME.

Here is some info on Type A and B Personality Theory.

Since this is a spectrum based theory, my guess is that very small percentages of people would be placed on extreme sides of the scale, and most are a mixture of both depending on the environment and circumstances, etc.

I’m 63 and was told from my Dr. after having stress test done in January before my surgery that I have developed coronary heart disease. All my life if I have to be somewhere. Dr. Or a friends house or whatever- I am there 10 minutes early. I have a buddy that I will not tell him to meet me when fishing. He’s 1 hour late all the time. Just last week I said meet at my boat at 9 am. 9 is late for me to fish. I normally go out at 5 am. But I know the way he is. So I told him 9. He got to my boat at 9:45. Sorry I would rather be A then B
Lol

I am a TFP newbie without a SWG, so I check chemicals every day. With Houston heat and sun, and no appreciable rain for the last few weeks, the chlorine demand has been pretty high. I have to add upwards of 3/4 gallon or sometimes more to keep my FC in range. It's pretty quick though, about 10 minutes a day for chemical checks and chlorine dumping. Cleaning skimmer and filter baskets adds time, but that's only once a week at this time of year.

With all that sun and heat. How much does your pool drop water ? I have to add ever day - maybe 1/2 inch pool drops. I also have sun all day on pool. 1/2 inch in this pool is a lot of water. 500 gallons or more a day.

LOL In this example I think it comes down to being type "considerate" vs type "inconsiderate". And what's even more frustrating is that if you try to adjust your plan to accommodate for this by telling them 8AM (when you really expect them by 9AM), the one time you do this, they will show up on time and scold YOU for being late.

I heard him talking on the phone. He is with me fishing on my boat. It’s 1 pm and we are fishing the tide that ends at 3 pm. He telling the guy on phone he will meet him at 3 pm. It’s will take him 45 minutes to get there. What is he thinking?? It’s in his DNA.

I don't know the volume of water I add, but it's about 1/2 inch every 3 or 4 days. I didn't pay attention last week and it was down 2 inches. Caused problems with my pump getting air, I suppose because the water wasn't high enough for the skimmers to operate properly. After that I try to be more careful with watching it. I don't know if it makes a difference, but we do have a LOT of humidity, so I wonder if that slows evaporation at all?
