(Note, there's not an actual party, she just meant the liner replacement - my weekend is pretty clear this week, which is good so I can get the liner out as we planned.)
I knew what she meant but this is such a big makeover for your pool, why not have a party to celebrate? I actually did have a party once the liner was getting installed with about 12 people in my family hanging out on the back porch watching the guys take out the old and put in the new liner. We didn't plan to watch and be creepers but everyone found it very interesting.

Good luck. Here are some pics of my old vs new liner to get you excited at how the finished result will make it look 100% better.

7pm day 1, 9 hours into drain. I did use the pool pump to waste...until we found where it was putting the water. The neighbor’s yard. >.<

Did you find it or did they call you to let you know? Will you be able to redirect that line at some point?
We found it. I can’t even see the end of the line. It’s under some rocks and bricks. I think the best we could do is dig a culvert on our property to lead it away from our house. But we can use the submersible pump for most drains and I’m not worried about a little water from backwashing.

Pool finished draining between 4am and 8am. Just a little left - moved the pump and got it.

There seemed to be some water under the deep end liner. We cut a slit, and used a shop vac to get it out too. The water was fairly clean. Just lots of little white flakes that were probably from the back of the liner.

Cut it into strips and took it out.

Shell looks good. Some divots and growth on it. Liner company asked me to tape the foam that’s falling back in place so I’ll do that when we get home. Out for lunch at the moment.

That looks like mold and mildew. Spray Wet & Forget | No Scrub Household Cleaning Products on it.
