Hello everyone,

I have recently moved to a new house that has a pool, and searching online for information to keep my pool in good condition has led me to this forum.

I hope to be able to keep it nice for the family at the cheapest price possible.

I live in the Dominican Republic and its sunny every day, with the unwanted heat.

I can't think of anything else to say. Ask if interested.

Is it 100% necessary to get the kit? Just bought some test strips two days ago.

I guess I will go and create a new thread talking about some stuff I've been doing to the pool.

Test Strips simply do not provide the accuracy and consistency you need. Because of this we do not make chemical recommendations based on them.

I looked around and read that the age of the strips or reagents affects the reliability( or accuracy) of the results. On this forum I read a thread that mentioned something on the line of needing to replace reagents yearly. If I buy a TF-100 kit, I'd be playing Russian roulette with the manufacturing date.

Not really, the TF-100 reagent is the most fresh you will find and they guarantee it.
I would suggest that buying a Taylor K-2006 from amazon that may have been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for a long time is more akin to russian roulette.

Depending on the frequency of use and proper test kit storage, many use the reagents for much longer than 1 year with no apparent problems.
