New Mexico
I live in eastern New Mexico, where the sun shines and the wind blows. I have an in-ground, plaster, 60,000 gallon pool and spa with diving board, 10' deep. Originally it is about 50 years old, I had it updated and added Hayward saltwater, Jandy filter and Raypak heater and spa about 15 years ago. I am debating about, and would really love to upgrade it again, to make it more "techy" and self sufficient. I rarely take time to swim (I owned 3 restaurants and have now sold all but one), but I don't like the pool ugly. My issue is I live in a small town and no one around does pool work. So I am trying to decide if I am "techy" enough to upgrade it myself. I really love the new Pentair Intellicenter, Intellichem, etc, but I am a little more familiar with Hayward, but not sure if it seems a bit more behind the times. If I could just hire someone to do it all, I would in a heartbeat, but that is easier said than done in a town of 5,000 population. I am pretty much in a world of learn to do it myself if I want to done.

So I am just here to learn all I can learn.

Thanks,
Yvette

Yvette,

Welcome to TFP.. a great place to learn all about upgrading your pool... :shark:

Now all you need to do is swim over to one of our subject oriented sub-forums and start asking those questions..

Thanks,

New Mexico here as well. Is your heater a heat pump? Live in Southern NM, about 50 miles north of El Paso. We're in the process of negotiating a pool and are considering a heat pump. If it is a heat pump has it worked well for you?
