Pentair Intelliflo 011018 _ Water inside the display

I have a 2015 Pentair Intelliflo VS variable speed pump 011018 in which water got inside the poorly designed display.
The pump is still running but on the last programmed low speed only. The display is blank and I can't run or program the pump to any other higher speed.

A fix would be to replace the drive 353251 for around $630.
Did anybody had a successful fix or got the 357527Z display working properly on the 011018 Intelliflo pump?

Thanks to anybody for any suggestions on how to not have to replace the whole drive just because the display board

Thanks Allen... I thought I had some photos of one of these things disassembled but I can't find them to save my life.

EG, if it's not under warranty it's definitely worth trying to fix. And if you can't fix it you can buy just the display part of the drive, although they can be hard to find.

I am pretty good in electrical pcb repair. I have opened the display enclosure and re-soldered and cleaned the corrosion areas. Seems some hole connections and via hole are too corroded and disintegrating.

Called Pentair and this 011018 vs pump is out of warranty. They recommend to replace the drive (353251) cause they don't offer the display only on the intelliflo 2015 pump year

If you do not have automation (which it sounds like you do not) you can buy VS pumps for less than the cost of the drive for the Pentair.

Aw man that stinks. Did you happen to get any photos when it was apart? I'm wondering if there actually is an eslastomer in there.

I've repaired a few boards with corroded traces and vias... I first gave them a good scrub with salt/vinegar solution then a follow up with baking soda/water to neutralize the acid. Some of the traces needed to be spot-wired. I don't know, yours "might" still be salvageable

It's odd that they're saying you can't get the keypad seperately... if that's true I wonder what they would call this:

It seems like maybe their "after 2015" statement applies to the IntellifloXF pump?? (I don't know what the XF means vs a VS)

Hey EG,
I had a crazy idea... what if instead of dropping 600 on a new drive, you bought a used Suntouch off eBay and used it to run your pump? When an automation system is connected to the pump the lcd/keypad shows "display not active" and can't be used. I've seen them as low as 100 bucks.

I just fixed two of these displays this week. As it turns out, all of the display boards are the same no matter what intelliflo pump it comes from... just populated and programmed differently. I took pictures when I fixed my display... Will post shortly. I have one pump left to fix that has a good display but a bad drive. I'll be working on it this week... have some "unpotting" to do first. I'm sure the drivers are blown... just gotta replace them. By the way, if all else fails, the entire display assembly is actually a "Danfoss" model "LCP 102"... and you can buy them new for about $100.

Hey Dr Bill,
Can you post the specs or a part number for those obsolete protection diodes that were blown? And I can't wait to see the de-potting... the only teardownI've seen on these was a video where a guy basically cut apart the board to get it out... your way should be a major improvement!
