I have difficulty with the color pH testing. Discerning the colors just doesn't seem to work well for me when it's above 7.5. To make the testing less frustrating, I got the pH meter from tftestkits thinking it might help me in learning to see the colors. My pH tends to drift upward a lot due to high TA and splashy grandchildren.

Just a bit ago, I tested my pH. The meter says 7.5. I see it as 7.2. I have the R-7062 solution and I double checked the calibration of the meter.

Am I stressing too much on pH level?

I had this same conversation with my wife using the test kit with a white sheet behind it, and had her tell me her perception of the PH. I left this little experiment wondering if I was color blind...

Thanks, DW. My husband and I also see the results differently.

Looks like 7.2 to me.

Any PH in the 7's is ok. 7.2 or 7.5 is just as good. As long as you can tell the colors when pH is below 7 or above 8.2 you are good.

I too see 7.2 I bought one of the meters and haven't been too happy with it. Between the calibrations and numbers not matching the Taylor kit, it's just garbage as far as I am concerned. When I test, if I have any doubt that it's "close" to 8, I will knock it down to 7.5 and that has been working well for me.
