This one is for me....

Dude I can’t wait to see this project done! You’ve got some serious talent, and attention to detail!!

P.S Matt and I have already acquired a “van” that is currently in the shop being painted up A-team style. So if you get a couple of “strange” looking Girl Scouts show up at your door, I’d refrain from buying the “coconut” varieties!!
(We both have a list of projects that require expertise skills.)(I wanted to use chloroform, but the chem nerd said he has something “better”, whatever that is.)

Where has Matt been? I miss his unwarranted banter...

I cut into the stucco and installed the hangers... bring on the crane!

I stopped email notification of thread updates because I got tired of deleting messages in my inbox. As such, I only get notification of thread updates when I’m on the site. @Leebo keeps promising me that he’ll get push notifications up and running but he continues to fail me....like so many others that fail me on a regular basis, you will all be part of a lengthy Festivus “Airing of Grievances” ceremony....

Oh, I guess I “accidentally” turned off all notifications for this thread....yeah, it was definitely an accident

Nice chop-out of the stucco!! May all your cracks be small and filled with lots of patch....now, if you don’t mind, I have some CBD oil extractions going and I need to carefully “sample” the end-products....

@JoyfulNoise Well since you shut off everything, check your PM box, I sent you something a couple of days ago.

I saw that. As soon as the grille is back up and running, I shall endeavor to make it. I’m contemplating some demolition work on the outdoor grill. The wife thinks I’m being unreasonable and I’m likely to lose an eye or finger....I told her it will just make the YouTube footage that much more interesting....

And here I thought you just lifted those beams up yourself and held them in place with your head while you got them fastened to the steel columns....

I’m sure the crane operator was having a great morning sipping his coffee :coffee: and reading the sports section ? while you were on the phone with the lumber yard ?

Brian, was everything pre-cut to fit, or did you have to cut them on site?

No, I had to cut everything but I prefer it that way...If anyone is going to cut a $900 beam short its gonna be me:devilish:

I worked for a framing company right out of high school and my job at the time was cutting and placing all the large beams in houses. I mis-measured a Glulam and cut it 6" short...that was the most expensive firewood I ever bought:cry:. I won't lie, I had flashbacks yesterday when I buried the saw in those beams.

One of the beams was only 10' long and it took everything I had to get it up there...my back is feeling it today. I guess I'm getting old.

The lumber yard............late with the heaviest stuff stacked on top and the exposed fascia boards on the bottom  every single one of the fascia boards broke

I was cutting up 2” square pieces of poplar hobby wood yesterday....so I totally know how you feel!!! I was like, “Dang it, if I’m short by 1/4” I’m going to be really tic’d off at wasting the $2.95 I just spent AND I’ll be out the gas money going back to HD for another piece

Yeah, it’s tough sometimes....

But the real question is - any shots of you using that super-awesome $900 handheld bandsaw to cut the beams??? That things a beast!!
