I have an IG pool with attached spa and If you look at the picture the PVC with the white handles on it the inner one says main (I assume that is the main Pool Drain) the outer some says skimmer. Does that control both Skimmers? At the point that the 3 PCV come together on the right side, it says suction no. idea what the left side says. The other Value I assume goes to the heater but that is not working. We knew that when we bought the house. Could someone be so kind as to tell me for normal pool function what should to open and what value the values should be pointed? Thank you in advance for your time.

The valve right in front of your pump is called the Intake valve.. it either allows the pump to suck water from your pool or your Spa.. When in the pool mode, it opens the connection to the the Main Drain and/or the Skimmer(s).. and shuts off the pipe going to your spa... When in the Spa mode, (rotate it 180 degrees) it will close off the inputs from the pool and allow the pump to suck water from the Spa drains...
Water leaves the pump and goes through your DE filter, and then through the heater (working or not) and then to the Return valve. The Return valve sends the water to the Spa, in the spa mode or the Pool when in the pool mode. It appears the Return valve is set to allow water to return to both the Pool and the Spa which will cause the spa to spillover into the pool.
If you do not already know, the small pump with the small hoses is called a booster pump and is what is used to run your pressure side cleaner.
I suspect your two skimmers are connected to each other and that is why there is only one valve...

Thank you for explaining this. One follow up question should I have both the main and the skimmers values open? Is there a reason to have open opened over the other?

It makes no major difference one way or the other.. I personally like to run the main drain off, or only opened about 10%. And I like the skimmers to handle most of the flow.. I would run full open in your case.. I have no idea how to adjust the flow to the skimmers when they are connected together. I would pull out the skimmers baskets and see if the "near" skimmer has some sort of flap or valve that can be adjusted.. If possible you want both skimmers sucking the same amount of water.
